American World Series Baseball Odds & Betting Lines
These are live American Word Series baseball odds and betting lines for
baseball betting and sports gambling. The World Series betting lines and
odds are updated in real time. These baseball odds also will show the odds
and betting lines for American and National League Championship games as the
time for those baseball games approaches. It is normal for World Series
odds and betting lines to vary between sportsbooks and to move up or down over
time as the baseball season progresses and as World Series baseball bets are
received by the sportsbooks.
If you need a refresher on sports betting and different types of bets and
odds, visit the Sports Gambling Tutorial on Sports Betting. Baseball betting
generally uses a money line
and a run line. The baseball run line is similar to a
point spread bet.
You are betting on whether a team will win by a certain number of runs.
So, for example, the run line for a baseball game might be Detroit Tigers -1 ½
and St. Louis Cardinals +1 ½. In this case, if you like the Detroit
Tigers, you are laying a run and a half, and must win the game by two runs or
more to win the bet. If you like the St. Louis Cardinals, you are getting
that run and a half and must either win the game outright or lose by only one
run to win the bet.
The World Series betting lines and odds are constantly moving based on the
bets being made. Sportsbooks generally make money on the juice, not by
putting their own money at risk. Their goal is to have a roughly equal
number of bettors on both sides of any baseball betting proposition and they are
moving the World Series odds and betting lines up or down to try and maintain
that balance. Maintain objectivity and look for opportunities.
Also note that it is not unusual for World Series odds and betting lines to vary between
sportsbooks.
Many sports bettors keep accounts at several sportsbooks so that they can shop the odds
on their bets. A slight difference in the odds can make all the difference in winning your
baseball bet.
